Editorial & content review policy

Wills and estate planning are the definition of content that has to be right. This page explains how WillSafe UK content is produced, checked and kept current — and what we deliberately do not claim.

Who writes and reviews it

Articles and guides are researched and written by the WillSafe UK editorial team and reviewed by Richard Wood, the founder of WillSafe UK (WSC Group). We are a template publisher, not a firm of solicitors, and nothing on this site is legal advice. Where a topic needs regulated advice — contested estates, business property, foreign assets, tax planning — our content says so and points you to a professional.

Sources we work from

• Primary legislation and statutory instruments at legislation.gov.uk (Wills Act 1837, Administration of Estates Act 1925, Inheritance Tax Act 1984, Inheritance and Trustees' Powers Act 2014, among others).
• GOV.UK guidance, HMRC manuals and official probate registry material.
• Published court decisions where a rule comes from case law.

How content stays current

• Every template carries a dated footer showing the legislation it was reviewed against.
• When rules change — like the April 2027 inclusion of pensions in inheritance tax — affected pages and templates are updated and dated.
• Purchases include 12 months of free template updates when the underlying law moves.
