About this template
A codicil is a short legal document that changes part of an existing will while leaving the rest in force. This codicil template covers the common small amendments: replacing an executor, updating a legacy amount, adding a guardian, or correcting a name or address after a move.
The template arrives as an editable Word document and a print-ready PDF. You state which will it amends, set out the change in the wording the template guides you through, then sign it with the same formalities as a will: your signature witnessed by two independent adults, per section 9 of the Wills Act 1837. The kit walks through each step.
A codicil is the right tool for one or two small changes. If you are changing who inherits the bulk of your estate, have married or divorced, or already have two codicils, a new will is safer and clearer, and the guide tells you when that is the case rather than selling you the wrong document.

Yes, provided it is executed correctly. A codicil has the same legal force as the will it amends, and the same signing rules apply: you sign it in the presence of two independent adult witnesses who each sign in your presence.
